Virtual Tours of Kyiv

May 2, 2022 // Volume #8

Dear Friends, **contact Sam@sharedetroit.com for recordings

In prior communications I asked you to help Ukraine. This one is different. Here, Ukraine is offering you something. How you would you like to visit Kyiv?

My friend, Ekateryna Prokhorchuk or Katya, is a professional Tour guide living in Kyiv. She spent years building her business, Your Kiev Guide. My family met her in 2016 when we toured Ukraine. Now I am bringing her knowledge, experience, and passion for Ukraine to you.

Please share the invitation widely on your social media and in personal emails! All are welcome.

From Ukraine and the US, Katya and I will be conducting three virtual tours that last approximately 30-45 minutes. Each one of the sessions will be followed by a quick look at other Kyiv highlights and discuss the current situation in Ukraine and the human toll on the country. Each session will have at least a 15-minute question and answer period. Please register for as many sessions as you would like to attend.

SESSION ONE: Highlights of Kyiv

Walk along the ancient city and feel its atmosphere. We start from the gala entrance of the Kyivan Rus state - Golden Gates - which are more than 1,000 years old. Visit inside the UNESCO site - St. Sophia Cathedral and move to Andrew's descent - the most popular place in Kyiv.

SESSION TWO: Jewish sites and history of Kyiv

We will visit two synagogues and find out why they were turned into the horse stables and puppet theater. We will speak about prominent Jews whom Kyiv still remembers including sugar king Lazar Brodsky, constructor of skyscrapers Lev Ginsburg and Golda Meir.

SESSION THREE: Babi Yar We will commemorate this place of sorrow and pain. 80 years has passed...how does Babi Yar looks now. We will see the Crystal wall, Mirror field and wooden synagogue and make our own research. Hard topic to speak about but must be remembered!

On behalf of SHARE Detroit, SHARE Ukraine, Katya, and the people of Ukraine, I thank you for your support and goodwill. The tours are our way of giving back to the incredible SHARE Ukraine supporters, and an opportunity to meet new friends interested in joining our efforts. We will collect freewill donations from those who would like to make their first gift.

We do ask that you share the invitation widely on your social media Facebook and Twitter accounts and in personal emails if possible. All are welcome.

Sam Rozenberg

Glory to Ukraine.
